Milagu Vatha Kuzhambu


Milagu Vatha Kuzhambu is famous Indian gravy recipe for Rice. Milagu Kuzhambu is a delicious Indian recipe  so spicy to eat as well as it is so colorful and served as a Curries.

 To prepare Milagu Vatha Kuzhambu


  • Small onion – 15
  • Garlic – 7
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tspn
  • Mustard seed – 1spn
  • Tamarind water – 1 cup
  • Salt – as required
  • Gingelly oil – as required
  • Water – as required


  • Red Chilli  – 8
  • Pepper corn – 1spn
  • Sesame seed – 1spn
  • Coriander seed – 2spn
  • Cumin seed – 1/2 spn
  • Garlic – 1
  • Coconut  – 1/4 cup
  • Small onion – 6


  1. Take the grinding ingrediants in a kadai and add some gingelly oil for frying and add it into the blender till fine paste
  2. Then cut the small onion , garlic both into two pieces keep it aside
  3. In a kadai add gingerlly oil, mustard seed, chopped small onion, curry leaves then add cutter onion and garlic then roast it in the oil
  4. Then add grinded masala, salt, turmeric powder along with that tamarind water
  5. Mix it well and cover it for 10 mins till the gravy become thick
  6. Now the oil floated on the top
  7. Now the Milagu Vatha Kuzhambu is ready to serve
  8. I served it with white rice and pudalangai kootu
